AirsoftHQ Cookie Policy

Last updated: June 2026

AirsoftHQ (airsofthq.app) is an independent price comparison service for airsoft equipment. We do not sell anything ourselves: with us you will find product information, prices and fields, and if you want to buy something you are referred (via an affiliate link) to the website of an external web shop. To make the website work, remember your preferences, measure usage and correctly attribute referrals, we use cookies and similar techniques. In this cookie policy we explain what cookies and trackers are, which types we use (or may use), for what purpose, how long they are stored and how you decide for yourself what you do and do not give consent for. This cookie policy forms part of our privacy policy; there you can read more about how we process personal data. The controller for the data processing via this website is Beflore, trading under the name AirsoftHQ, established at Reurikwei 83, 6843 XV Arnhem, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 94780765 (VAT identification number NL005111873B25). Questions about this policy can be sent to info@airsofthq.app.

What are cookies and trackers?

A cookie is a small text file that a website places on and reads from your device (computer, tablet or phone) as soon as you visit the site. Cookies remember, for example, that you are logged in, which settings you have chosen or that you arrived on our site via a particular link. In addition to cookies there are similar techniques, such as local storage and session storage in your browser, pixels and scripts. These too store information or read information; in this policy, by the word cookies we always mean all cookies and these similar techniques together, unless stated otherwise.

Cookies come in different kinds. First-party cookies are placed by AirsoftHQ itself and belong to the domain airsofthq.app. Third-party cookies are placed by a party other than AirsoftHQ, for example a service we engage for statistics, map display or keeping track of referrals. We also distinguish temporary cookies, which disappear as soon as you close your browser (session cookies), and permanent cookies, which remain on your device for a set period (persistent cookies).

We classify the cookies below into four categories: strictly necessary cookies, functional cookies, analytical cookies and marketing and affiliate cookies. For strictly necessary cookies we legally do not need consent, because the website cannot work properly without those cookies. For the other categories we ask for your consent in advance. You give that consent, or refuse it, via the cookie banner and can always adjust your choice later via the 'Cookie settings' button. The names, providers and retention periods we mention below are indicative: exact technical details may differ per service and per version, and we therefore describe them approximately.

1. Strictly necessary cookies (no consent required)

These cookies are indispensable for the website to function securely and correctly. Without these cookies you cannot, for example, log in or stay logged in, and we cannot safeguard security. Because they are strictly necessary for a service you have requested, they are legally exempt from consent. You cannot disable them via our cookie settings; you can, however, delete or block them manually via your browser settings, but then the site may no longer work properly.

Authentication and session cookies (Supabase). Provider: Supabase, the service we use for logging in, account management and the database behind AirsoftHQ. Purpose: to establish whether you are logged in, to securely store your session and login token so that you do not have to log in again on every page, and to protect your account. This data is usually stored in your browser's local storage or in cookies. Retention period: for the duration of your session until the moment you log out or the login token expires; refresh tokens may be stored longer to keep your session active, as a rule up to several days or weeks. Type: first-party (linked to AirsoftHQ; the processing runs via our supplier Supabase).

Security and operational cookies. Provider: AirsoftHQ and/or our hosting party Netlify. Purpose: the correct handling of requests, basic security, error handling and keeping the website running stably. Retention period: short, from the duration of the session up to the period set in the technology at most. Type: predominantly first-party.

Cookie preference cookie. Provider: AirsoftHQ. Purpose: to remember which cookie choices you have made, so that we respect your consent and you do not have to fill in the banner again on every visit. Retention period: usually up to six or twelve months, after which we ask you for your choice again. Type: first-party. This cookie is necessary to carry out your preferences and therefore falls under this category.

2. Functional cookies

Functional cookies make the website more user-friendly by remembering your choices and preferences. They are not strictly necessary for the site to work, but they do improve your experience. Depending on the settings and legislation, we may ask for your consent for some functional cookies; you can manage your choice via 'Cookie settings'.

Preference cookies. Provider: AirsoftHQ. Purpose: to remember settings you choose, such as your preferred region or country, displayed currency, language choice, or the order and filters with which you view products and fields. Retention period: usually from the duration of the session up to several months. Type: first-party, often stored in your browser's local storage.

Cookies for stored content. Provider: AirsoftHQ. Purpose: to store locally the information you use in the app, for example making field data available offline or remembering your squad display, so that you do not have to retrieve everything again each time. Retention period: until you delete this data or your browser data. Type: first-party (local storage).

3. Analytical cookies (consent required)

Analytical cookies help us understand how visitors use our website: which pages are popular, how visitors navigate through the site and where improvements are possible. We use this information to make AirsoftHQ better and more relevant. For analytical cookies we ask for your consent in advance; you can give, refuse or later withdraw it via 'Cookie settings'. We place these cookies only after your consent.

Statistics and measurement cookies. Provider: an analytics service engaged by AirsoftHQ (for example a privacy-friendly web statistics service or a comparable product). Purpose: measuring visitor numbers, page views, visit duration, devices used and overall origin, and compiling aggregated usage statistics to improve the website. Retention period: depending on the chosen service, usually from the duration of the session up to several months, and for some metrics up to approximately two years at most. Type: may be first-party or third-party, depending on the provider.

We strive to set up analytics in as privacy-friendly a way as possible, for example by limiting or anonymising data where we can. Which specific analytics service is active may change over time; the current list and details can be found in the cookie settings at the time of your visit.

4. Marketing and affiliate cookies (consent required)

AirsoftHQ earns from affiliate commissions: when, via a referral on our site, you view or buy something at an external web shop, the web shop or the affiliate network may grant us a fee. To be able to correctly attribute that referral and any purchase, and to make advertising more relevant, marketing and affiliate cookies are used. These cookies are often placed by third parties. We only place or activate them after you have given consent for this; you can refuse that consent or later withdraw it via 'Cookie settings'.

Affiliate tracking cookies. Provider: external affiliate networks and/or the web shops to which we refer. Purpose: to register that you arrived at a web shop's website via AirsoftHQ, so that any purchase can be linked to our referral and the affiliate fee is correctly attributed. Retention period: determined by the relevant network or web shop, usually from several days to several months (for example the validity period of a referral). Type: predominantly third-party. Please note: as soon as you click through to an external web shop, the cookie and privacy policy of that web shop and the network apply, and no longer that of AirsoftHQ.

Marketing and advertising cookies. Provider: external marketing or advertising parties that we may engage. Purpose: measuring the reach of campaigns, displaying more relevant offers and preventing you from seeing the same message too often. Retention period: determined by the relevant party, usually from several weeks up to approximately one year at most. Type: usually third-party. Which parties are active may change; the current list can be found in the cookie settings.

Map display (OpenStreetMap tiles) and your IP address

On the pages with fields we display an interactive map. The map images (tiles) are loaded via OpenStreetMap, an external service. In order to display those map images, your browser connects directly to the servers of that external tile service. In doing so, your IP address is, by technical necessity, sent to that third party, together with data about your browser and the map area you are viewing. An IP address qualifies as personal data.

The map is a functional part of the field and squad display that you request yourself; displaying a map is technically not possible without your device retrieving the map tiles from the external service, in which process your IP address is sent along. We use these tiles solely to display the map and not to track you. If you want to avoid this data sharing, use the parts of the app without a map. The processing of data by the external tile service is governed by that service's policy; we have no influence over it.

Provider: OpenStreetMap tile service (or a comparable map tile service used by AirsoftHQ). Purpose: displaying map images for fields and locations. Data: among other things your IP address and technical connection data. Retention period: determined by the tile service; we do not store this data ourselves for this purpose. Type: third-party connection.

Giving, refusing or withdrawing consent

On your first visit we display a cookie banner. In it you can indicate per category which cookies you accept. Strictly necessary cookies are always on, because the website cannot do without them; for functional, analytical and marketing and affiliate cookies and for the map display you decide for yourself whether you give consent. You can accept everything, refuse everything except the strictly necessary, or make a choice per category.

Your choice is not final. At any time you can view and adjust your preferences via the 'Cookie settings' button, which you will usually find at the bottom of the website (in the footer) or in the menu. There you can withdraw consent previously given or, conversely, give consent after all. Withdrawing consent has no retroactive effect: data processed with your earlier consent remains lawfully processed up to the moment of withdrawal.

In addition, you can always manage cookies via your browser. In your browser's settings you can view, delete and (partly) block cookies, and you can often set it so that you receive a notification before a cookie is placed. Please bear in mind that blocking or deleting cookies, including strictly necessary cookies, may cause parts of AirsoftHQ to no longer work properly, for example that you cannot stay logged in or that your preferences are not remembered.

Changes to this cookie policy

We may amend this cookie policy from time to time, for example when we add new features, switch suppliers or when laws and regulations give cause to do so. The most up-to-date version is always available at airsofthq.app. In the event of important changes we may ask you again for your cookie preferences.

If you have questions about this cookie policy, about the cookies we use or about the processing of your data, please contact us via info@airsofthq.app. The controller is Beflore, trading under the name AirsoftHQ, established at Reurikwei 83, 6843 XV Arnhem, Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number 94780765, VAT identification number NL005111873B25.
