Affiliate and Transparency Statement

AirsoftHQ (airsofthq.app) is an independent price comparison service for airsoft products and equipment. We do not sell anything ourselves and are not a party to the purchase agreement you enter into. You always buy directly from an external web shop. We do, however, earn money through affiliate links: if you reach a web shop via one of our outbound links and buy something there, we receive a commission in some cases. In this statement we explain openly and honestly how this revenue model works, how we make affiliate links recognisable, and how we rank our results. Transparency comes first here: you must be able to trust that our price comparison is fair and neutral, and that our income has no influence on what we show you. How our revenue model works

AirsoftHQ is free to use. We do not charge you anything for comparing prices and viewing products and fields. In order to maintain and expand the service, we fund our work with affiliate commissions.

An affiliate link is a special referral link to an external web shop. If you click an outbound purchase link on our site and then place an order with that web shop, the web shop may pay us a commission for it. That commission is a percentage or fixed amount that the web shop pays out of its own margin.

Important: this commission costs you nothing extra. At the web shop you pay exactly the same price as you would if you bought there directly, without our link. The commission has no influence whatsoever on the amount you pay to the web shop.

Not every outbound link earns us a fee. We also show shops and products for which we have no affiliate arrangement. Whether or not there is a commission involved changes nothing about the way we present a product or price.

Every purchase link is clearly marked

We believe you should always be able to see when a link may earn us money. That is why we mark every outbound purchase link that has an affiliate arrangement behind it on the spot as 'Affiliate link', directly at the button or link itself.

This marking is not just hidden away in this statement, but is visible at the moment it matters: just before you click through to the web shop. This way you always know where you stand before you make a purchasing decision.

Where no affiliate arrangement is involved, this marking adds nothing and the link remains an ordinary outbound referral. The presence or absence of the label therefore only says something about our earning relationship, not about the quality or relevance of the product.

Ranking and price transparency (EU Omnibus)

As a price comparison service, we are required under the European Omnibus Directive to explain to you the basis on which we rank our results. We are happy to do so here, because fair ranking is at the heart of our service.

We determine the order in which products, prices and web shops appear on the basis of objective characteristics that are relevant to the user. Important examples of these parameters are the price (from low to high), the relevance in relation to your search query or filter choice, the availability of the product, and the completeness and timeliness of the product data. The default sorting is in principle neutral and geared towards the user's interest, such as the lowest or most relevant price.

Affiliate commission is expressly NOT a ranking parameter. The fact that we do or do not receive a commission from a particular web shop does not influence the order of the results. We never place a shop higher because it pays us more, and we never push a shop down because it earns us nothing.

At present we do not use paid placement or sponsored positions that disrupt the organic order. Should we ever introduce paid or promoted placements in the future, we will clearly and recognisably mark them as such and amend this statement accordingly, as required by law.

Editorial independence

Our content and our income are kept separate. We make the choices about which products, shops and fields we show and how we present them on substantive grounds and in the interest of the user, not on the basis of who pays us.

A commercial party cannot buy more favourable treatment, a higher position or a more positive presentation from us. Affiliate partners have no say over our ranking, our texts or our reviews.

This is how we keep the price comparison reliable: what you see with us is based on data and relevance, and is not coloured by commercial interests.

Future reviews and ratings

At present, AirsoftHQ focuses on neutrally comparing prices and showing product and field information. If we introduce reviews, ratings or assessments in the future, we will remain transparent there as well.

We will then make clear where the reviews come from and how we try to safeguard their authenticity, for example whether a review originates from a verified user or whether its origin cannot be established. We never present reviews as verified without having taken reasonable measures to that end, and we do not post reviews that we know or suspect to be false or misleading.

For reviews too, affiliate relationships do not influence the presentation: a positive review is not for sale and a negative one is not removed at the request of a commercial partner.

Data processing, cookies and changes

Affiliate links and the measuring of click-throughs may involve the processing of personal data and the placing or reading of cookies or similar techniques, for example by the affiliate networks or web shops to which we refer. How we and these third parties handle your data is set out in our privacy policy and our cookie policy. There you will also find which parties are involved and how you can give or withdraw your consent.

We may amend this affiliate and transparency statement from time to time, for example if our revenue model changes or if new laws and regulations require it. You can always find the most up-to-date version at airsofthq.app.
